Throw out your espadrilles, fling those Birkenstocks into the bag of discarded and unloved sandals that you keep at the back of your wardrobe (admit it, we all have an overflow bag of shoes). Solillas has arrived in London armed with huge amounts of Balearic charm and beauty.
I went along last week to the launch party and was greeted by a small but charming beach hut, with white washed walls, sand and laid back beats. Coupled with free beers courtesy of Estrella, it was hard not to imagine being on the White Island.
The new pop up store at Boxpark near Shoreditch High Street had a beautiful range of sandals on display, a myriad of colours reflecting both the Ibiza and London roots of the brand. From bright cobalt blue to the hottest pink. My favourite colours were the aquamarine blue and zebra stripe shoes.
Showing off her artistic skills was Emma Charlton at the back of the store.
Using a mixture of pen and brilliantly colourful paints Emma painted several plain Solillas sandals with vivid butterflies and mushrooms. Her designs also feature on a range of tees including a pineapple design that I now have my eye on.
The new Office range which launched in stores last month were also on display, glittering gold, palms, baby blue and neon leather sandals all made using traditional techniques in the small Menorcan town of Ferreries.
The sandals are all super soft, with a small peep toe allowing just a cheeky glimpse of polish. They have a little heel to stop them being totally flat and just that little bit more comfortable. Perfect for summer.
If you have tiny, teeny feet or children then Solillas also have little sandals for little feet (or if you just want to put them on display).
