When it comes to beauty products I am wary of trying out new products as inevitably I am disappointed and end up going back to my tried and tested favourites.
Recently though I have come across a handful of products that I’ve tried and am confident that they will remain firm favourites in my beauty regime.
Nivea Happy Time Shower Cream
I normally buy my shower gel from The Body Shop but I was tempted by the very Japanese sounding name plus I love the smell of oranges. This shower cream is brilliant. Only a tiny amount is needed and it turns into a lovely creamy froth even with my hard water. And it does leave my skin feeling happy not tight. (It’s also a steal of a price).
Revlon PhotoReady Eye Primer
Normally I just put my eye shadow straight onto my lids but after seeing how quickly it creases I went out and found a primer. It goes on like a concealer and I find it does help with not only keeping my powder where I place it but also makes it easier to apply.
Une Intuitive Touch BB Cream Foundation
I was on the lookout for a compact foundation that I could easily slip into my handbag on nights out that also had a mirror built-in. I tried House of Fraser thinking I could buy a pretty compact and just buy refills. None could be found so I headed over the road to Superdrug where lo and behold, as if designed for me was Une BB Cream Foundation.
It claims to have “7 Miracle Virtues; unify, smooths, boost radiance, corrects, moisturisers, re-balances and protects”. All I know is that it is great for going out, it feels slightly powdery to touch but goes on silky (I use my fingers as the brush is hilariously small). Plus it comes with a clever iPhone-esque shaped mirror. Possibly my favourite beauty find this year.
Dead Sea Spa Magik Salt Brushing Exfoliating Scrub
I have been using this salt scrub mainly on my arms and legs to get rid of any patches of dry skin and although very messy to use (I apply in the bath before I have my shower) it smells divine with a tropical zesty scent.
The scrub itself contains Dead Sea salts, coconut oil and Vitamin E and after scrubbing it leaves my skin feeling soft with no need to moisturise. Just be careful if you have just shaved as the salt will sting! Oops on my part.
MAC Soba Eye Shadow
I saw some nail polish that I wanted from MAC and they didn’t have the colours anywhere but on their site so what else could I do but buy a few other little extras. I opted for a fairly safe shade of Soba which is a soft brown colour. It goes on so easily and a little goes a long way. It’s my favourite for work as the colour is neutral enough but with some eyeliner really accentuates my eyes if I add a little more to build up the colour.
